CHILDREN from a primary school are backing a bid to make the twin Anglo-Saxon monastery of Wearmouth-Jarrow a World Heritage Site in 2011.
Members of the school council at St Bede's RC Primary, in Claypath Lane, South Shields, have added their names to a Book of Life, which is being used to collect signatures in support of the campaign. St Bede's headteacher Nicole Park said: "We are very pleased and proud to support this bid, which recognises the importance and huge influence of St Bede."See the full content of this document
