IT'S six years since the Northern Cross-Country Championships were last held in the region, but on Saturday action returns when over 2,500 competitors are expected at Herrington Country Park, Su n d e r l a n d. The Wearside venue, under the backdrop of Penshaw Monument, is no stranger to holding major cross-country events after the local council hosted a highly-successful National XC Championships in 2007.
The 10-race programme gets under way at 11am with the under-13 boys championship, with the senior men's 12k race bringing the curtain down on proceedings at 3.05pm.See the full content of this document
