I feel ashamed to be a fellow British citizen of the type referred to by CR Henderson, Your Shout, January 4.
He/she refers to the Government being bullied into giving aid to Africa when it should be spent on British citizens. In fact we give less than the target of 0.7% of GDP in overseas aid. Discussions on Africa and concerns on a crumbling British infrastructure were unbelievable. Most of the countries of Africa would be overjoyed if they had an infrastructure a tenth as good as ours. Remember the numbers of lives lost in the Tsunami disaster are unnecessarily lost every week in various parts of the world due to poverty.See the full content of this document
