TOON legends Alan Shearer, above, and Paul Gascoigne are among those alleged to have been caught up in the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
Their names emerged today in a list of football stars who had left messages on the voicemail of Professional Football Association chief executive Gordon Taylor. Mr Taylor is reported to have accepted a pounds 700,000 pay-off last year from the paper in an out- ofcourt settlement for breaching his privacy. Other public figures said to have been bugged by the newspaper include former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, PR agent Max Clifford, Boris Johnson, Sir Alex Ferguson and actress Gwyneth Paltrow.See the full content of this document
