MINERS' banners were displayed as a book celebrating the region's industrial heritage was launched.

More than 100 local history buffs joined a march led by Dunston Silver Band through Sunniside, Gateshead, to launch the book which chronicles the area's disappearing waggonway routes and colliery sites.
