The switch from a three-tier to a two-tier system of education in outer-west Newcastle means Chapel House, Chapel Park and Throckley Middle Schools will close, despite around 3,000 objections. Liberal Democrat councillors promised a review and parents hoped this would mean a return to the three-tier system in 2006.
