CHILDREN'S literary skills are improving in our region, according to new Government figures.
Results of this year's Key Stage 1 tests, commonly known as Sats, show 80% of pupils in the North East achieved the target Level 2 or above in writing, an increase of 1% from last year. The figures for reading skills, maths and science have remained steady across the region since 2008 at 83%, 89% and 88% respectively.See the full content of this document
