A REVIEW is to be carried out into an embarrassing blunder that means five new road gritters will not hit the roads of Northumberland in time for winter. The vehicle-mounted grit boxes won't be delivered until the New Year. The gritters are needed to replace ageing stock, and the delay in getting them sparked anger from councillors and concerns about possible impact on winter operations in the event of snow and ice on the roads in December and January.
