Summary
As one of the two Newcastle Parent Representatives, I read with interest Peter Young's report (16.4.04) on the Newcastle Schools' Admissions Forum's recommendation that Newcastle Council change from a so-called first preference first system for admission to schools to an equal preference system.
It is particularly interesting that, even before the consultation process is completed, New Labour and the Liberal Democrats have told you what position they will adopt in the remaining stages of that process.
