Summary


IT'S A LONG time since I've been here, here to this lovely place Cragside, in all its glory, I was young, and did not face, The beauty, lost to uncaring, lost to all my youth, I'm old, broken now, but the house still stands aloof - Amongst the wondrous flowers, craggy granite grey, Splits to mahogany brown Twisted trees, rhododendrons, slip into Rothbury town. Inside the Victorian house, picture of bygone ways Each room, signifying a presentation of life, Laid out to show their days - My friend asked all the questions of the guide who perused the rooms "Did they do this? Did they do that?"

I knew, suddenly in the gloom - Spirits of another time, whispered quietly to me saying A sense of place, is what we are, Cragside for Eternity.
