A policeman needed surgery on his broken ankle after a drunken clubber tried to stop him arresting his girlfriend.
Kristopher Kelly, 23, grabbed PC John Butler when the officer moved to arrest Kelly's partner in Sunderland city centre, and they fell. PC Butler's ankle was fractured in the fall. He needed surgery to repair the damage.See the full content of this document
