WALLSEND Labour outplayed Division Two opponents The Jubilee in the first round of the Combination Cup, defeating them 6-0. Michael Scatchard, Brian Odonnell (2) and Greg Hamilton (3) were the scorers for Wallsend.

Rutherford also entertained Division One opposition in Sunniside - and ended up losing 9-2. Richard Hardy and Stephen Irons notched for Rutherford.
