The family of a North East serviceman used as a guinea pig at a Government chemical testing centre claimed victory today.

Leading Aircraftsman Ronald Maddison, of Consett in County Durham, died after having droplets of the poison sarin dabbed on his arm at Porton Down chemical warfare testing facility in Wiltshire in 1953.
