Summary
So here it is at last ( the Lib Dems' regeneration plan for the West End (Chronicle, January 12). Only it isn't a Lib Dem plan at all. The Housing Expo for Scotswood was conceived by Scotswood residents, working with local councillors and officers before the Lib Dems won council control. The Discovery Quarter project was initiated by the former Labour Council in February 2004. The District Heart and improved transport were key features of Going for Growth. And the Pathfinder project to invest in private housing is a Labour Government initiative.
The only significant difference is a shift in new housing proposals from Benwell and Scotswood to the west edge of the City Centre.See the full content of this document
