Summary
ALTHOUGH I sympathise with the views of contributors regarding teachers and their willingness to strike, I suspect that if critics failed to achieve anything at school, they now choose to place the blame on the teaching profession, rather than their own lack of commitment at the time.
For the record, candidates cannot become teachers overnight and, whereas educational requirements may not be as demanding for, say, entering a less qualified trade where life experience may be more significant (such as working in the police or forces), they have to be fairly robust where accessing the teaching profession is concerned.See the full content of this document
