Summary


FIREFIGHTERS were called to battle a blaze at a block of flats.

On arrival a person, who had jumped out of the window of the flat which was on fire, was found on the grass outside the flats in Hendon, Sunderland. They had severe burns and smoke inhalation and ambulance crews quickly escorted the casualty to Sunderland Royal Hospital. Twelve firefighters from Millfield and Farringdon attended the fire in a first floor flat of the two storey building of six flats at 3pm yesterday.
