A COUNCIL chief whose life was saved by quick-thinking sports centre staff is to show his gratitude by walking Hadrian's Wall for charity.

Martin Ryan, deputy chief executive of Tynedale Council, collapsed last November at Wentworth Leisure Centre, in Hexham, as he played a game of badminton.
