Fire Chiefs Hail Blaze Alert Fall ; Safety Schemes for Householders Help Cut Callouts by 28%

Summary


HOUSE fires in the region dropped by more than a third last year. Figures from the Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Service also reveal the number of people injured in domestic blazes decreased by a quarter over the past 12 months.

There were 29% fewer arson attacks during the same period, with hoax calls also down by 13%.
