IT has been a long fight by campaigners, but plans are now in place for the rebirth of Tynemouth Station.
Canopies on the historic structure, which dates back to 1882, have fallen into such serious disrepair that it was place on the English Heritage register of buildings at risk. A Government grant of pounds 2m will help renovate the canopies to make them safe and bring derelict areas of the station back into use.See the full content of this document
