NEWCASTLE City Council report conclusions: The introduction of a Universal Credit will replace a range of mean tested benefits which will impact on 28,000 people in Newcastle.
A more restrictive test of Disability Living Allowance will affect 9,720 people from 2013 with the possibility that 3,300 disabled people could lose their entitlement to benefits.
