A SHOCKED schoolboy had an air rifle pellet removed from his head after being shot.

The 11-year-old was walking in an allotment area at the back of Ashington's Lidl supermarket at around 6.30pm on Monday. He suddenly heard a "ping" noise, and felt a pain in the back of his head.
