A CHARITY that helps needy families in a remote Himalayan village has been given a cash boost.
The Rotary Club of Monkseaton Centenary, in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, has presented pounds 3,000 to Vera Russell, who founded Javea in Nepal to improve the lives of disadvantaged people. Great- grandmother Vera has devoted the last 12 years to fundraising and during that time has raised enough money to provide medical care, water supplies and drainage, as well as a much-needed health centre with resident medical staff.See the full content of this document
