Blaydon Are Back On the Right Road with a Victory

Summary

BLAYDON took maximum points on the road for the first time this season as they racked up a 29-9 victory over Stourbridge. The SSE National One basement boys were a try down inside nine minutes as wing David Sheldon got Blaydon over the line.

And they led 22-9 at halftime as further tries from Gavin Jones and Matt Clark cancelled out three penalties from home fly-half Mark Woodrow. Winning away has not proved easy for Blaydon this term, and even the sin-binning of Keith Laughlin could not prevent them from taking a full five points away from the West Midlands encounter.
