THE banks are still at it, putting themselves first and customers' interests last. Take the recent holidays - interest payments due to customers at the end of the month are not paid until well into the first week of January, about four days late if you're lucky. Yet one bank building society I know managed to pay interest earlier to its customers at the close of the month.
