Christian Henry scored a superb first maximum for the Diamonds and Josef Franc clocked the fastest time around Brough Park for two years as Newcastle stepped up their Premier League title challenge with a 56-36 win over Isle of Wight.

The night was a huge triumph for Australian Henry, riding his first match for three weeks after a knee injury, as he and James Grieves twice thwarted tactical ride moves by the Islanders' top riders with some first-class racing.
