Summary
It is quite an achievement for a 16-year-old, Michael Holmes (pictured) to earn his wings and be able to fly his Piper Warrior plane solo (Chronicle, January 30). Unfortunately, this will mean that he will add to the increasing numbers of small planes that buzz around Gosforth for hours on end.
When there were complaints a couple of years ago we were promised that these private flights would keep away from built-up areas and confine their irritating droning to open countryside in Northumberland.
