Station Revamp

WORK on the final phase of a pounds 7m modernisation project at Sunderland Metro station will start today. Nexus is investing in the Network Rail-owned station as the major operator using it. The 140-metre long platforms will be given new wall coverings, floors and ceilings to give the building a striking new image. Improved lighting, passenger information and waiting areas are also major elements of the project.
